Dear WCA Family,

This week and next a group of six students from David Livingstone Christian School and their teacher chaperone are visiting our school, attending classes and taking part in various WCA activities. Here from El Salvador, they are part of an exciting educational and cultural exchange program that began when I met with their principal, Alejandra Labbe, about four months ago. The students are having a great time as they interact with our students and learn more about a Christian school in the United States.

I want to thank the wonderful group of WCA families who are hosting our visitors and showing them an exciting time in south Florida. Their help and hospitality has been a tremendous blessing to our visitors from El Salvador.

Also, I want to thank the PTF once again for all their help throughout the year. Their prayers and support have been a great encouragement to me and everyone at WCA. This week, they extended their love for our school by surprising our administration and staff Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday with all kinds of food and gifts. Thank you PTF for your kindness and all that you do!

And I personally want to thank the administration and office staff who work so diligently every day. Please allow me this opportunity to give a special thank you to Donna McCann, Valerie Moran, Evelyn Sengelmann, Beverly Spatafora, Chuck Buie, Sue Troxel, Patricia Del Pozo, Susan Love, and Bobby McCann. You are a blessing to WCA and we thank you for your Kingdom work to God's glory.

I hope and pray you have a wonderful weekend with your family and a blessed day on Sunday as you worship our Lord Jesus Christ.

Blessings to you in the Name of our Lord,

Dr. Steve Kitchens

On Tuesday, all of our Latin students and their teachers joined together and dined on a wonderful lunch of foods that were eaten in the Roman Empire.  The students had done research on what foods were available in those times and yes, they did make cheesecake in Ancient Rome!  We also enjoyed chicken, grapes, bread and humus, apples, five kinds of cheeses and three varieties of olives along with red grape juice.  We were serenaded by Andrea Bocelli singing opera.

A special thanks to Mrs. Sahs for organizing the event. "Eramus fortunati" - we were blessed.

Some of the visiting students from El Salvador were able to go and enjoy a trip to the Everglades and an airboat ride with Mr. Knierim & Mr. Navarro.

Hello Sports Fans!

It was a great week in sports here at WCA.  Our tennis teams continue to improve, as does our baseball team.  Our boys and girls tennis teams both took consecutive losses to Donna Klein and Hillel of Boca, but they played hard and with a lot of energy.  Our boys baseball team travelled to Donna Klein on Wednesday and pulled out a victory, putting them one step closer towards potentially making the playoffs.

Next week is the last week of regular season sports for the 2012-2013 school year!  The schedule is as follows:

Monday      3:30   Baseball @ Sagemeont (Played at Tequesta Trace)

Tuesday     4:00   Baseball vs. BMA (Played at Regional Park)

Tuesday     4:00   Tennis vs. BMA (Played at Weston Tennis Center)

Thursday    4:00   Baseball vs. Zion Lutheran (Regional Park)

If you haven't taken a game in yet, this is your last chance!  Come on out and support your Soaring Eagles!
